Kirisal is plural for Kiris (lorikeet) in the Maluiligal language of the Zenadh Kes nation. It is also a common delicacy. They mainly feed at the top of tall mango trees. Like the Surka (wild fowls), they play an important role in alerting villagers of visitors.
