Description
‘I must have been five or six then, I don’t know how long it took us, but we walked from Riversleigh to Thornonia. These were a couple of rivers. Mum caught fish and she’d cook that just under the coals. She’e give us the flesh off the backbone, each side, poor old thing. She’d give us the best of what she had.’
The artist’s grandmother, Grace Isaacson, talking about her mother, Mabel Daly, 1993
