Description

The leg of the bush turkey was used by women on the artist’s island of Badu as a good luck charm when hunting, fishing or in search of Suarr (wild yam) which was very hard to find.

In order for the charm to be efficacious the leg had to be positioned under the ladies’ breast.

The black trevally was a sought after fish. This and other visual elements relating to the story are depicted in the print.
