Description

This specific mask is my interpretation of the ceremonies associated with the mating turtle seasons. When a young male catches his very first turtle, a ceremony known to us as Zug Ngurpay, takes place… at certain times masks similar to this one are worn by the young men’s uncles. This also signifies the relationship between uncle and nephew.
