Description
This print is based on the spiritual connections between all the living beings throughout the Zenadh-Kes nation (Torres Strait Islands). Mura Uruyau Danaka means ‘for the eyes of every creatures’. When a victim is felled by his enemy, all the animals that are connected to him spiritually feels his pain. Through the channels of the spirit world connected creatures who are classed as augadhal (totems) see and hear the moment of their loss. Signs of such events are noticed when birds in large groups make strange sounds for the creatures of the island world to acknowledge.
