Description
The artist is one of the pioneers of interpreting the Torres Strait Islander tradition of storytelling into a visual narrative mainly through the medium of black and white linocut prints.
Alick is particularly interested in the Badu Island stories told to him by his father and other elders about the sea and land creatures, headhunters, ancestors, religious beliefs and life before colonisation.
