Description
The Bungle Bungle region in Western Australia is made up of pre-Devonian laterite formations which appear striped horizontally. Between the rocky hills lie lovely gorges often with palms in their shady hollows. The artist has depicted a place in the Bungle Bungles where the girl ‘Ngarli’ lived in the Dreamtime. She lived in a cave with a woman ‘ Worang Worang’. There is a special corroborree for these women which is performed by Gidja people from the area.
