Description
Master printmaker Theo Tremblay ran a three week workshop for students at the Millingimbi school in Central Arnhem Land in September 1998. During the sixties Millingimbi was one of the most active Aboriginal traditional painting communities in Australia. Andrew Margalulu, the Ramingining artist, dancer and songman was selected to act as the traditional tutor to the aspiring printmakers. His role during the workshop is embodied in this linocut print which symbolizes the passing on of knowledge, depicting an old man teaching culture to a young student.
