Kerrie Lester

1953 – 2016

Kerrie Lester was born in 1953 in Sydney and lived and worked from her Mosman studio from 1989. Lester is renowned for her distinctive stitched canvas paintings, offering a unique perspective of her immediate environment and surroundings – artworks poised between painting, drawing, sculpture and weaving. With an art career that was meteoric, Lester held over 21 solo exhibitions within a thirty year period – her first held immediately after graduating from art school.
