Description
After the rain when you see the yellow flowers then we have to go out an look for Tjala (honey ants). First we have to find the ants. After that we start digging the ground to find the little hole. When you find the hole yoy have to follow that hole right down to the bottom, then you’ll find the Tjala. It is sweet tasting. Anangu people: they like it.
The union of Marion Baker’s Tjala image with Valerie Cullinan’s base pattern has produced an overall print as sweet and vibrant as the honey ants themselves.
This print is one of twelve in the ‘Origins’ portfolio published for the 2000 Sydney Olympic Games that can now be purchased individually.
