Description

This work tells the story of Konggol which is one of the story places found throughout our Kokoberrin Homelands on Cape York Peninsula. It is said that, for thousands of years, Mosquitoes have lived here under a large Cabbage Palm tree. When we are harvesting the leaves for weaving, our elders say that we must be careful not to cut down this tree. If it is cut down the Mosquitoes will fly out and travel in the direction that the tree falls. The Mosquitoes will travel until they reach the first camp or community and bite everyone, making them sick.
