Description
Alice Downs in the East Kimberley region of Western Australia is the setting as Jack presents a view of the area known as Chinaman’s Gardens.
Now a thriving community the lands were used as vegetable gardens in the early part of last century supplying the nearby town of Halls Creek and the people involved in the fledgling pastoral industry.
Jack depicts the old Halls Creek-Wyndham road as it makes its way through Garden Jump-up past the sites of the old gardens and residence.
